Val di Fiemme (AP) - The German nordic combined have narrowly missed a victory in the team sprint in Val di Fiemme.

The duos Johannes Rydzek and Vinzenz Geiger as well as Eric Frenzel and Fabian Rie├čle had to beat the Norwegians Joergen Graabak and Jan Schmid by 0.5 seconds after a thrilling competition on the track over 2 x 7.5 kilometers and took the ranks two and three three. Rydzek / Geiger, who were second after the jump, made it to second place in the photo finish in front of Frenzel / Geiger. The two German duos had previously worked together for a long time to catch up with the leading Norwegians.
