With each new killing in the United States, the issue comes back to the forefront. Should we forbid the carrying of weapons? The mayor of Pittsburgh, where an attack on a synagogue took place on Saturday, calls Donald Trump to this point. But there is little hope of change.

It is an eternal beginning. A killing slammed America and divided its society in the wake: on the one hand, the militants for better control of the carrying of weapons, and on the other those who brandish the second amendment. The US Constitution is clear: carrying a weapon is a fundamental right.

In this fight between pro and anti-arms, in the end it is always the same who win the battle.

The pro-weapons are powerful, their lobby, the NRA , could almost govern America. Any debate on the issue of arms regulation is blocked. Many elected Republicans have pledged allegiance to this association which also supports the current US President.

For the NRA, there is only one way to fight against weapons, it is to arm more. With each new killing in schools or in a synagogue like Saturday in Pittsburgh , these are the same phrases that come back, Donald Trump offers armed guards to protect places of worship or schools.
