Five days after opening his scorers with Liverpool, the midfielder re-offended in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against FC Porto on Tuesday (April 9th). His early goal put the Reds on the road to victory (2-0). Naby Keïta is becoming more and more involved in Liverpool's squad. And the Mersey club has growing ambitions at the end of the season.

The African continent was well represented this Tuesday, April 9 at Anfield Road, theater quarter-final first leg of the Champions League between Liverpool and FC Porto. On the visitors' side, Cameroon's Vincent Aboubakar was absent due to injury, but Algerian Yacine Brahimi was on the bench (he came into play for the last 20 minutes) and Malian Moussa Marega was the holder. In Liverpool, the Senegalese arrow Sadio Mané and his Egyptian partner Mohamed Salah were there, as was the Guinean Naby Keïta. The Cameroonian Joel Matip, he remained on the bench substitutes.

Two goals in five days for Guinean

The first spark came from Naby Keita's feet. And it's a small event. Not yet fully installed in the eleven holder of Jürgen Klopp, the midfielder has taken a step in recent weeks and has even recently unlocked his meter-goals. He scored his first goal with Liverpool on April 5 against Southampton (3-1). He put it right back against FC Porto, just like his years in Leipzig where his impact in attack was more important.

Served by Roberto Firmino, the Guinean armed a shot at the entrance to the surface. The chance was on his side, as Oliver Torres deflected his shot and involuntarily gave him a fatal trajectory to Iker Casillas. The goalkeeper of Porto could only watch the ball take the direction of the skylight (5th). Two goals in a few days is good for Naby Keita and of course Liverpool.

Liverpool wants to live an enchanted spring

Dominating, the Reds made the break thanks to Roberto Firmino (26th), scorer after offering the goal to Keita. Mohamed Salah was less in view, and Sadio Mané was denied a goal for offside in the second half. Moussa Marega was one of the only FC Porto players to struggle in the offensive sector, without success. Alisson Becker repelled three of his strikes, and the Malian missed the frame in the 78th.

With this 2-0 win, Liverpool takes a good option on qualifying. Last season's finalists, Klopp's players do not let go: they are fighting a fierce duel with Manchester City in the quest for the Premier League title, and Europe still suits them. Spring is going to be hot for the Mersey players.
