A Palestinian youth was killed in the early 1920s by Israeli occupation forces. The number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank rose to two on Tuesday after another young man was killed in the city of Hebron for allegedly attempting to carry out a stabbing.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement that the first young man arrived at the hospital after being hit by a live bullet in the heart and failed attempts to save him.

Local sources told Al-Jazeera Net that Mohammed Jamil Shahin, 23, was wounded during clashes that broke out after the occupation forces stormed Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Street in the center of Salfit in a campaign to confiscate surveillance cameras.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that its crews treated 40 metal bullets and tear gas suffocation during clashes with the occupation forces in Salfit.

The confrontations broke out following the storming of dozens of Israeli military vehicles from all the entrances of Salfit, shooting at the young men who clashed with the soldiers, and appeals were made in the city to donate blood for the wounded.

Israeli soldiers stormed a number of shops and businesses in the center of the city, confiscating surveillance records, while dozens of shopkeepers were prevented from leaving.

Strict measures
The Israeli occupation authorities also closed the roadblocks surrounding Salfit and the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Israeli forces also closed Huwwara checkpoint south of Nablus. They prevented the passage of citizens and diverted their route to the village of Awarta, near the checkpoint, and hindered the passage of citizens through the Za'tara checkpoint to the south.

The Israeli army tightened its military measures at the Shavei Shamron settlement checkpoint on the land of the citizens north of Nablus and the Beit Furik checkpoint east of the city.

These incidents came as part of a sweeping sweep launched by the occupation army after an Israeli car was fired on Monday night in the "Mafraq Hares" area west of Salfit.

Shaheen's martyrdom brings the number of West Bank martyrs Tuesday to two after Israeli soldiers killed Yasser al-Shweiki in the southern West Bank town of Hebron, allegedly for attempting to stab the old town.

The Palestinian Higher Judicial Council said Shweiki was a staff member of the Hebron District Court and was on a working mission when he was executed by Tuesday afternoon.
