Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman al-Thani has discussed with his Turkish counterpart Mouloud Gawishoglu a number of regional crises, most notably developments in Libya and Syria, and Israeli statements on the West Bank.

The Qatari minister told a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart in the Turkish capital Ankara that the discussions included the conflict in Libya, especially the recent attacks by the illegitimate forces led by retired general Khalifa Hafater on Tripoli and terrorizing the safe.

He considered that there were those who wanted to overcome the international will to impose a new reality by force in Libya despite the efforts of the Government of National Reconciliation recognized by the international community and all the support provided by the United Nations Mission to a political solution.

The Qatari foreign minister called on the international community to have a firm stand in the face of violations of international law, not only in Libya but also in all regional issues that also disregard and violate international law and international humanitarian law every day.

The minister spoke about the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, especially the recent statements that provoked the feelings of the entire Arab world regarding the Israeli prime minister's claim to annex the West Bank as Israeli territory, which is unacceptable according to international norms and laws and is unacceptable to all of us.

The two sides also discussed the developments of Palestinian reconciliation and regional and international efforts to reach them "by urging the parties that unity and ending the division as soon as possible are the first line of defense to preserve the Palestinian cause."

The minister also talked about developments in the efforts of the State of Qatar to achieve peace in Afghanistan and the talks between the Taliban and the United States. The talks also dealt with the latest developments in Syria, especially regarding the situation in Idlib.
