The United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued a statement welcoming the decision of the International Court of Justice today regarding Qatar's request for interim measures under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
The statement reads as follows:

The United Arab Emirates welcomes the decision of the International Court of Justice on 23 July 2018 concerning Qatar's application for interim measures under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

The Court rejected some of Qatar's requests for interim measures. Instead, by a small majority, the Court noted some of the actions already taken by the UAE. The Court's decision reflected that the provisional measures Qatar had requested were baseless and were not supported by any evidence. , Qatar should respond to the legitimate demands of the UAE and other boycotting countries regarding Qatar's continued support for terrorism and its efforts to destabilize the region.

The UAE affirms that its actions are directed against the Qatari government and not the Qatari people. In contrast to the Qatari allegations, thousands of Qataris still live in the UAE and visit them. Qatari visitors can enter the UAE with prior permission through the hotline announced on 11 June 2017.

The UAE urges Qatar to engage constructively in the applications made by the UAE and other countries to Qatar to comply with its international obligations, while at the same time welcoming the Qatari nationals on its territory, as affirmed in the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on 5 July 2018.
