According to the deputy, "no one needs an arms race and the complication of the situation and no country is interested in this."

On December 21, the UN General Assembly did not adopt the Russian resolution in support of the continued operation of the INF.

43 countries voted for, 46 against, 78 members of the UN abstained.

Russian Deputy Representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, said that the Russian side was disappointed with the EU’s position on the resolution in support of the INF.
