According to him, the meeting lasted more than an hour.

“First of all, there were about 20 questions about Salisbury, what happened in Amesbury, what we think about it, what is the position of Russia. I would say that 80% of the facts that I provided were new to him, ”said Yakovenko.

He stressed that he tried to explain to Rowley the position and logic of the Russian side.

“We also talked about his health, which, from his point of view, is deteriorating. I told him that we would be happy to provide another conclusion, ”the ambassador said.

At the same time, he said that when asked whether he knew how he was treated, his interlocutor replied in the negative.

According to Yakovenko, Rowley does not have a definite position on the Amesbury incident, and he does not consider Russia to be involved.

The diplomat described the conversation as very friendly and expressed confidence that the diplomatic mission’s contacts with the British would continue.

It became known earlier that Yakovenko met Charlie Rowley and his brother Matthew as a result of the incident in the British Amesbury.

In July 2018 in British Amesbury, two people were injured, presumably due to exposure to an unknown substance.

One of the victims, Don Sturgess, died in the clinic, her companion Charlie Rowley was discharged from the hospital on July 20th.
