According to police, on January 12, about 84 thousand people (60% more than a week ago) took to the streets of cities across the country, 240 of them were detained. In a number of cities — Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Bourget, and others — demonstrations of “yellow vests” grew into clashes with the police. To disperse the protesters, the security forces used special equipment, including tear gas and water cannons. Reported about 24 victims, two of whom are in serious condition.
