“I look at the economic relations between my country, Italy, and Russia and I see that they have collapsed in recent years,” said Prodi.

The former head of the European Commission noted that at present politics has become more important than business.

At the same time, he stressed that, in spite of everything, Russia and Italy are complementary.

“I understand that Italy and Russia complement each other. But, unfortunately, so far this complementarity and the need for each other does not materialize, ”Prodi concluded.
