“Poroshenko is not going to listen to the opinion of the inhabitants of the peninsula. As for his plans, before the elections the president has a lot of them. Each of his statements is even more irresponsible than the previous one; he doesn’t pay much attention to logic. Poroshenko wants to have time to please the voters for the remaining time. Therefore, he talks about everything that comes hand in hand, ”he said.

According to the expert, the best that the Ukrainian people can do in this situation is not to vote for Poroshenko.

“Everything bad that the president could do, he has already done. The most correct thing is not to miss it in the second round, and then just forget it. As for the Crimea, Poroshenko’s opinion is completely uninteresting to the residents of the peninsula, ”concluded Bruter.

Earlier, Poroshenko promised to return the Crimea "without bargaining and backstage arrangements."

The president also said that the Ukrainian authorities after the elections "will take decisive steps for the return of Donbass and Crimea."

Crimea became the Russian region after the referendum held there in March 2014, in which the majority of residents spoke in favor of reunification with Russia.
