"Given the active role of Cairo in the League of Arab States, the EU takes the opportunity to confirm that now is not the time to either normalize relations with Syria or reintegrate Syria into international organizations," said a statement published on the website of the EU Council.
Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that the situation in the political settlement of the conflict in Syria has improved, and therefore Russia is counting on the West to lift the sanctions against the SAR.
