Stoltenberg says Georgia will definitely become a member of NATO

“Georgia is a special partner of NATO. Last year, we reaffirmed that the decision of the 2008 Bucharest Summit remains in force and Georgia will definitely become a member of NATO, ”RIA Novosti quotes him.

At the same time, during a joint press conference with Mamuka Bakhtadze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Stoltenberg added that Tbilisi is making the “largest contribution” to the common cause.

“The ongoing joint exercises confirm that we have very strong cooperation,” the Alliance Secretary General concluded.

In January, the Georgian leader, Salome Zurabishvili, declared that the country was “practically on the threshold of NATO.”
