The National Program for Happiness and Quality of Life has announced the development of standards to enhance the quality of life in residential communities in partnership with Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, community groups and all stakeholders, The implementation of the national policy of vital housing communities and the activation of their controls and standards in the establishment of housing projects designed to facilitate human life and enhance quality levels.

The policy was developed in cooperation with the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program and in partnership with the community and the concerned authorities in order to move from the quality of homes and communities to vital residential communities that enhance the quality of life.

The National Policy for Vital Housing Communities includes a guide that sets out detailed, unified standards for residential communities nationwide that respond to rapid urban growth and urbanization and ensure an appropriate environment for individuals to enhance their healthy lifestyle, strengthen social ties and a sense of belonging. The objectives of the National Quality of Life Agenda, launched at the annual meetings of the Government of the UAE in November 2018, are to enhance the resilience, sustainability and sustainability of cities and regions through vibrant communities that support quality of life.

The guide is a practical mechanism to enhance the quality of life of the community in an integrated manner. It was developed in partnership with 21 community planning agencies, 50 experts and city and community planning specialists. Workshops and meetings with stakeholders, specialists and residents were held as part of the development of the guide.

The aim of the guide is to make a qualitative leap forward in its design by adopting standards that contribute to improving the quality of life in residential communities, creating a new concept for urban development, establishing a culture of community cohesion and activating the role of the population in the development of their societies.

The Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Balheif Al Nuaimi, stressed that the program will adapt the standards of residential communities through the establishment of more than 7,200 homes in the country in the coming years.

He said that the policy will achieve community cohesion through several criteria, most notably the diversity of the size of households in the residential area, the high population density, the green areas in the community areas, the residential buildings that connect and contribute to increasing the green area in the area, For children, seating areas and pools, and the neighborhood service center, which includes separate educational, health and community facilities or a central unit.

Al-Naimi stressed that the program allocated areas in the residential neighborhoods that it implements to support community agriculture initiatives, in coordination with the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment, to increase the area of ​​green area and contribute to filling part of the daily needs of the daily agricultural products.

Minister of State for Health and Quality of Life, General Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, Ohoud Bint Khalfan Al-Roumi, said that the government is adopting an Emirati culture based on Al-Furjan culture, which is based on community cohesion and facilitates people's lives. The quality of life guide in residential communities defines the principles and directions for the development and establishment of quality housing communities, through a set of rules and tools that contribute to the presentation of vital experiences, embracing the spirit and culture of the original society, the model of interdependence and positive interaction and the rapprochement between individuals in the UAE society.

The guide is designed based on the results of research and studies aimed at conveying the expectations, perceptions and proposals of the community members to design healthy, vibrant residential communities.

The guide includes 114 approaches to planning residential communities that enhance quality of life, and 38 practical planning examples to enhance the quality of life in residential communities. It includes six areas that represent the physical and moral components of residential communities and their quality-of-life planning: the most appropriate location, integrated facilities, Interactive life, community participation, intelligent systems.

The most suitable location is to choose a location that reduces isolation, increases mobility, improves access to all facilities, and provides a mix of public facilities and housing types to create an integrated residential community.

The planning areas include integrated facilities that depend on street planning and common public spaces, and buildings that are distributed in a way that enhances the participation of the population in improving their community. It also includes the interconnected communities that are developing a road network that allows residents to reach most destinations in comfort and speed, ensuring the safety of pedestrians and users. the path.

The planning areas also include the development of interactive living spaces that allow people to communicate and interact with each other, provide opportunities for community participation by providing appropriate space for events and smart planning areas by enhancing readiness for future technology and benefiting the population , Enhancing community rapprochement, and using the data it provides to improve the quality of life of the population.
