The alert runs especially for the morning of Saturday, 8am to 12pm. The eight departments concerned are: Calvados (14), Eure (27), Eure-et-Loir (28), Manche (50), Mayenne (53), Orne (61), Sarthe (72) and Seine-Maritime (76). ).

Negative Mercury and Ice. Météo-France indicates that this is the "first episode of ice storm of the season, requiring particular vigilance, because traffic conditions may be difficult." While the mercury posted Friday morning negative minimum in Normandy, Météo-France predicts that "Saturday morning, the frosts will be marked again, and the pavement temperatures still very negative". Precipitation, which will return to the west of the country on the night from Friday to Saturday, may be in the form of flakes or low snow.

Bleached floors. A few centimeters of snow are thus expected on the Norman hills. In the plain, soils can also be laundered. An episode of rain on frozen ground or temporary ice is then expected, before the return of the redoux. "Even if these slippery phenomena could locally be temporary, this episode will make the traffic conditions difficult," warns Météo-France.
