Palestinian Salah Abu Ali is proud to have his family, the oldest and largest olive tree in the world, in the village of "Walaja" in Bethlehem.

Japanese experts estimated the age of the tree to be more than 5,000 years, making it a destination for foreign and local tourists.

But the settlers' frequent attacks on olive trees in the West Bank prompted the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture to appoint Salah Abu Ali as a guard on the tree to protect it.

The tree produces about five hundred kilograms of olives per season, and its oil is described by Abu Issa as fat, and insists it is the best oil ever in the world.

Because of its fame and reputation, foreign and local tourists come to see the perennial tree.
