Scientists will go to the place of the collapse of the fells in the Khabarovsk Territory
The second group of scientists will head to the Verkhnebureinsky district of the Khabarovsk Territory, where the fall of the hill occurred. RIA Novosti informs about this with reference to the Chief Researcher of the Institute for Water and Environmental Problems of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexey Makhinov.
“A group of scientists is leaving from Khabarovsk on Saturday,” he said.
According to Makhinov, the task of scientists is to determine the parameters of a landslide, its size under water, the size of the recess on the mound and the height of the water splash formed after the collapse of the soil.
They also intend to establish whether water passes through the dam and whether similar landslides are possible in the future.
Earlier in the Verkhnebureinsky district a state of emergency was introduced after the partial collapse of the fells into the Bureya River.
Khabarovsk Territory reported on the preparation of a new expedition to the Verkhnebureinsky district.
