The investigation site Mediapart released Thursday, October 25 a video filmed by French soldiers during the Bisesero massacres and issued from the audiovisual archives of the Ministry of Defense. He denounces the "passivity" of the French army when more than a thousand Tutsis were methodically murdered by Hutu militia during this very dark episode of the Rwandan genocide between 27 and 30 June 1994.

The filmed scene shows the boss of the French special operations in Rwanda, Colonel Jacques Rosier, receiving from one of his subordinates information about the ongoing violence in the hills of Bisesero. " Yesterday, we were in I do not know which town. There were beatings all day in the hills, houses that were blazing everywhere, "he reports. " Hum ... Hum ... ", barely responds Colonel Rosier.

The informant goes even further. He says the French military probably had a Hutu genocide leader as their guide. " When we came across a gang of Tutsis who were fleeing into the hills and they recognized him," said the sergeant-chef, " I thought they were going to stone him ."

In front of him, the boss of the French special operations is content with a " yeah ". A revealing attitude, according to Mediapart, the " passivity " of the French army during the Bisesero massacres. According to the investigation site, the scene was filmed on June 28, 1994. For its part, the military hierarchy has always claimed to have known about the situation in Bisesero only on June 30, 1994.
