The ministry stressed that according to the government decree, the Ministry of Industry and Trade "is entrusted with the task of ensuring the balance of commodity markets and preventing the negative impact of economic measures on the activities of Russian organizations."

“Within the framework of this authority, operational monitoring will certainly be carried out and, if necessary, adjustment of the restrictions imposed,” Interfax reported.

As noted, it is allowed to issue temporary permits to conduct certain operations in respect of certain legal entities against which sanctions have been imposed.

“That is, in fact, the decision is“ sewn up ”the mechanism for granting temporary exemptions, if it is necessary to ensure the interests of Russian companies,” the agency explained.

Thus, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has the opportunity to use this mechanism in cases where the implementation of a foreign economic operation meets the interests of Russia.

Earlier, Russia imposed sanctions on 390 Ukrainian individuals and legal entities.

The decision to impose sanctions was taken in response to the unfriendly actions of Kiev.
