The acting US Attorney General says he has not exchanged any information with the president on prosecutor Mueller's investigation. Matthew Whitaker was auditioned this Friday before the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives. Threatened to be summoned if he did not show up voluntarily, Matthew Whitaker is the first person in charge of the Trump administration to face a committee of the now Democratic House. And the audition was more than tense.

Matthew Whitaker warned from the outset, no question of revealing anything of his exchanges with the president. This did not prevent parliamentarians from questioning him, often to no avail.

" Madam parliamentarian, I've said it many times today, I'm not talking about the conversations I had with the President of the United States or senior officials, "

Prior to being appointed Justice Minister, Matthew Whitaker publicly criticized the work of Attorney Mueller. And parliamentarians have continued to question him on his possible interventions to curb the investigation. Harassed by the elected officials, the interim Minister of Justice finally gave up: " I did not interfere in any way with the investigation of the special prosecutor. "

But throughout his hearing, Matthew Whitaker showed distrust, even impertinence. " Mr. President, I see that your five minutes are up and so ... "

Matthew Whitaker's constituents ended up irritating the elected officials. " Minister, we are not joking here. And your humor is unacceptable, "replies Sheila Jackson Lee, Democratic Representative of Texas.

Matthew Whitaker will soon be leaving the acting position. William Barr should be confirmed next week as Minister of Justice by the Senate. The Judiciary Committee of the House, it intends to hear other officials of the Trump administration about possible impediments to the investigation of prosecutor Mueller.
