The drama came shortly before the start of the Champions League match between AS Roma and the Moscow club. There would be about twenty wounded.

Twenty people were injured, mainly on the legs, in the collapse of a portion of a escalator in the center of Rome (Italy), presumably caused by Russian supporters of the CSKA Moscow football club, report Tuesday night the Italian media.

CSKA fans went down the subway

According to the agency AGI, "a large group of CSKA tifosi, probably under the influence of alcohol, started jumping together, causing the collapse" of a portion of escalator.

The escalator in question led to the Repubblica metro station in central Rome. The station was closed to the public, with many police vehicles and ambulances on the scene.

Russian supporter severely touched

According to the Sky-TG24 television channel, citing police sources, there are 20 wounded, mostly Russians, one of them in serious condition.

AGI said, however, that 17 CSKA Moscow's tifosi were injured, two more seriously.

All media evoke the case of a Russian supporter whose foot would be "half amputated" .

An investigation has been opened

The mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, visited the scene of the accident in the evening.
