It is reported by Reuters, citing a senior official of the US administration.
According to him, part of the military will be located in the north-east of Syria as a peacekeeping mission, the other part in the At-Tanfa conflict avoidance zone near the border with Iraq and Jordan.
He noted that the US military in the north-east of Syria will be part of the European mission numbering from 800 to 1.5 thousand people.
Earlier, the White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said that the number of US troops in the SAR will be reduced from 2 thousand to 200 people.
