The Dubai Criminal Court in absentia sentenced a US football player to a police officer who attacked a policeman while he was on duty at the gate of a police station in Dubai, where he was attacked with a hard-hitting device, causing him permanent disability of 30%. An incident that took place about four years ago but did not show the parties concerned the reason for the delay of the trial and the verdict yesterday.
The victim said in the incident that he was surprised by the attack by the accused, who was enrolled in one of the clubs at the time, according to the investigation of the prosecution, pointing out that he also insulted the words of shameful shyness.
While the defendant mentioned during the investigations of the Public Prosecution and the record of the police reasoning that he did not remember what happened because he was under the influence of alcohol consumption.
An eyewitness told the incident that the victim's colleague at the gate of the center said that he was talking to his colleague when the accused suddenly attacked him with a solid instrument that did not know what his colleague had fallen on the ground. The defendant did not stop but continued to assault him, pointing out that he used his colleagues from inside the center to control and arrest the accused .
The Public Prosecution directed the accused to commit a crime of assaulting a policeman and causing him permanent disability of 30% as well as insulting him and using alcoholic beverages in other than the licensed conditions.
