The gender opinion of Poroshenko, the changes that the said law introduces, creates the conditions for Ukrainians to exercise their constitutional right to free religion.
“Changes in the law create the best conditions for the realization of such a right for those who will decide which Orthodox jurisdiction to belong to ..., whether to the new autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine, or to the church that insists on maintaining its connection and dependence from the Russian Orthodox Church, ”the text says.
According to the Ukrainian leader, the choice is made easier when “all things are called by their proper names.”
Earlier, Poroshenko signed the law on renaming the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
