Peru, Brazil, and Colombia recognize Guido’s acting president of Venezuela

"The Government of Peru recognizes and supports the President of the National Assembly, who assumed the duties of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the face of the illegitimacy of the Nicolas Maduro regime," said a statement published on the Peru MFA website.

Brazilian President Zhair Bolsonu wrote on his Twitter page that "Brazil recognizes Juan Guaido, who has assumed the powers of the President of Venezuela."

"Colombia recognizes and expresses its support for the President of the National Assembly, Juan Guaiido, who took over today the execution of the powers of the President of Venezuela," - reported on the page of the Colombian Foreign Ministry on Twitter.

Earlier, the American leader Donald Trump officially recognized Guayido as interim president of the country.
