Negotiator from the EU proposed to extend the transition period Brexit until 2022

It is noted that Barnier put forward this idea during the meeting of the ambassadors of 27 EU member states.

According to the publication, this proposal will give the parties two more years to discuss trade relations, but it will mean that the UK will continue to adhere to EU rules and make contributions to its budget for six and a half years since the 2016 referendum.

Earlier, Barnier stated that the transition period within Brexit would last until December 31, 2020.

The UK will leave the EU on March 29, 2019.
