“The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on presidential candidates of Ukraine to verify their Facebook and Instagram accounts. This is necessary to prevent dishonest campaigning and create fake profiles of candidates, ”the ministry’s press service said.
It clarifies that the Ukrainian cyberpolice has already held relevant consultations with Facebook.
The ministry said that the fake pages of candidates will be blocked by the administration of social networks together with law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov, spoke about how to protect the CEC servers from probable "cyber attacks" of Russia during the presidential election.
