“Trying to justify their destructive decision to withdraw from the INF Treaty, the United States is promoting an information and propaganda campaign based on dishonest interpretations and frank speculations,” the agency’s commentary says.

So, noted in the Foreign Ministry, in the publications and statements of American officials, it is claimed that Russia "instead of responding to the causes of US concerns about the INF Treaty, began to put forward its own claims." In fact, everything was exactly the opposite, diplomats stressed, - for the first time, Americans voiced accusations against Russia in 2013.

Washington’s statements that the United States allegedly responded in detail to Russian claims are also not true, the department stressed. They noted that for many years Moscow had shown maximum patience in seeking for the Americans to eliminate obvious violations of the agreement and giving reasoned and technically sound arguments, but in Washington they “simply dismissed them”.

Earlier, the US Permanent Mission to NATO responded to the proposal of the Russian Ministry of Defense to return to the implementation of the treaty and destroy weapons that violate the terms of the document. It stated that Washington has repeatedly attracted Russian officials in various instances to explain that "US actions in these areas meet the requirements."
