According to sources, such data is indicated in the report of the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine, Anatoly Matios, on the state of law and order and military discipline in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The source noted that Matios does not specify what proportion of this number are deserters.
“They catch very little while, from the beginning of this year to September only 1,587 fugitives were detained,” the source said.
He added that the number of escaped military is alarming, since "many of them have weapons on their hands."
In May, in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, the detention of two soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was reported.
