It is noted that the initiative to raise the fine was made by deputies of the Leningrad Legislative Assembly.

In their opinion, the fine should be increased 10 times. The publication emphasizes that at present the fine amounts to 5 thousand rubles for individuals and 50 thousand rubles for legal entities.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Veronika Skvortsova, said that the use of electronic cigarettes increases the likelihood of adolescents becoming familiar with smoking traditional tobacco, which should not be allowed.

At the end of May, State Duma Deputy Gennady Onishchenko told the TV channel 360 about a change in the attitude of citizens towards smoking.
