London and Moscow resumed on Saturday the diplomatic dialogue broken eleven months ago following the Skripal affair, an attempt to poison a former Russian spy in England. High level discussions took place on the sidelines of a conference on security in Munich.

The meeting was held between UK Secretary of State for Europe Alan Duncan and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Titov.

On the Russian side, it is pointed out that Britain has been " positive " in the discussions, but on the British side, it is much less tender. Alan Duncan speaks of ever-deep differences with Russia, which he believes should act " as a responsible partner ".

London denounces pell-mell the attitude of Moscow in Ukraine, but also in Syria, where Russia supports the regime of Bashar al-Assad, and finally attempts to destabilize by cyberattacks .

Almost a year ago Theresa May, the British Prime Minister, announced the suspension of all high-level bilateral contacts with Moscow, in retaliation for the Skripal case , named after the former Russian spy living in England. victim of an attempt of poisoning.

Today the dialogue is certainly restored between Great Britain and Russia, but the way remains long before finding normalized relations.
