"In connection with the scheduled preventive work in the period from February 18 to April 16, 2019, the Lenin Mausoleum will be closed to visitors' access," TASS reports from the FSO press service.

Previously, access to the Lenin Mausoleum and the Moscow Kremlin was closed on December 26, due to the holding of an all-Russian Christmas tree in the Kremlin Palace.

In November 2018, Sergey Malinkovich, Executive Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communists of Russia Party, sent an appeal to Prosecutor General Yury Chaika with a request to check the proposal of the deputy of the legislative assembly of the Leningrad Region Vladimir Petrov to replace Vladimir Lenin’s body with a copy.
