As the minister pointed out, Russia is still open for professional dialogue on the situation with the INF.
“As a first step, we initiated the demonstration of the very missile that the Americans consider a violation of the treaty,” Lavrov added.
He noted that none of the NATO countries had attended the briefing, with the exception of Bulgaria, Turkey, and Greece.
“Those who heard the briefing confirm that he was very professional and quite convincing. Of course, someone who boycotted this event could arise if they listened to the briefing, additional questions, and our military were ready to give answers to them. But, as they say, you can’t be forced by love, ”he said.
He also said that the United States gave appropriate instructions to NATO countries.
“There was an order, we have no doubt that the United States told NATO members that they should not go there. It turned out that three more or less independent ones who disobeyed, ”he said.
On January 23, the Defense Ministry held a briefing at which it showed the 9M729 missile to foreign military attaches.
The representatives of the United States, Britain, France and Germany and the NATO mission did not attend the briefing.
