"We will be ready to make every effort to ensure that the Korean peninsula is reunited, an economic and transport infrastructure is created," Lavrov said in the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York during a meeting with Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Lee Yong-ho.

In addition, he congratulated Lee "on the successful holding of the two Koreas summit in Pyongyang".

Lavrov also noted the importance of the possibility of holding a joint meeting with the two foreign ministers of the North and South Koreas, as "this is a good opportunity to see" as all three sides advance in joint cooperation.
