LONDON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump is using his presidency to win commercial goods through a website called Trump Store, according to a report in The Independent newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the Donald Trump website promoted a variety of goods bearing the image of the White House for personal gain - apparently - in a possible violation of rules of ethics.

According to the report, the goods on the website include long-sleeved shirts worth $ 45, a large Cuban for $ 6, and a blueprint for the White House, the official residence of US presidents in Washington DC.

The new lineup, which premiered for the first time last Wednesday, has about 11 items, four of which bear the image of the White House and some Washington DC landmarks.

Trump Store, Trump's official retail site, says the new lineup is inspired by the Trump World Hotel building in the US capital.

The newspaper said that the publicity for a shirt worth 30 dollars was written on the words "a unique picture of the Hotel Trump Washington surrounded by cherry trees." But the publicity omitted the reference to the image of the White House in the foreground.

The announcement of the long-sleeved shirt also did not refer to the White House, as did the Big Cup, while each piece of the $ 322 soap set carries a White House image under the title of Trump Hotels.

"The president of the United States is exempt from some rules of ethics," says Jessica Tillipman, George Washington University's ethicist at George Washington University. "But one hopes for a president who does not look like he is getting out of office."
