According to Klimov, the Kosovo precedent "significantly changed the modern political geography of Europe."

The senator noted that the main point is the illegality of the bombing.

“Because without the sanction of the UN Security Council, they were not entitled to it. Nothing can justify them. They undermined the fundamental principles not only of the UN Charter, but of the entire structure that emerged after the 1975 Helsinki Accords, ”Klimov added.

He explained that this is why today in NATO “they shamefully disguise all this behind verbal husk,” but, as the senator noted, “de facto they committed criminal acts.”

Earlier, the press service of NATO said that the alliance 20 years after the bombing of Yugoslavia still believes that they were necessary and legitimate.

As noted in the alliance, the operation "Allied Force" began to "stop the humanitarian catastrophe" in Kosovo.
