Fatima Hamdi - Algeria

Before the arrival of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Algeria within the expected visit - not confirmed by the Algerian authorities officially - appeared clear in social networking sites and in the positions of different personalities rejected the Algerian street for the visit, which asked several questions about the timing and program.

Algerian political analyst Abdalali Razzaki denied that the Saudi Crown Prince's visit was merely a routine diplomatic visit, explaining in a statement to Al Jazeera.net that Bin Salman's expected arrival came at the request of him "as part of a plan to correct his image."

The Saudi Crown Prince is seeking to use Algeria as an intermediary between him and "angry" France, especially since he "plans his surprise visit just before the arrival of French President Emmanuel Macaron" for Algeria.

Ben-Salman, according to Razzaki, follows in the footsteps of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who visited Algeria after his coup against President-elect Mohamed Morsi. He said he was "trying to take Algeria a gateway to public opinion in Africa" until the world forgets its crime. Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed last month at his consulate in Istanbul.

An urgent visit
"Algeria is satisfied with it, and it has been neutral during the last controversy over the killing of the Saudi journalist," he said, adding that "the man is not wanted in Algeria, whatever the reasons for his visit, which he is trying to promote" .

For his part, parliamentary MP Nazih bin Ramadan surprised the visit, which he described as a surprise to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and asked about the reasons that made the visit take the character of urgency, stressing that the next hours "will be the answer, with the official announcement of details.

The MP said in a statement to Al Jazeera Net that the visit of the Crown Prince "comes within the framework of a six-nation program," adding that Algeria has no comment or opinion on the killing of the Saudi journalist.

"I have no honor"
Bin Salman said bin Laden's visit would be in the context of consultations on low oil prices, which US President Donald Trump, who called for a bigger reduction, praised Saudi Arabia.

The rejection of the visit also extended to the world of art and film, where film director Abdelkader Griou said: "The circumstance in which Ben Salman visits Algeria is not appropriate, since he is still accused in the murder of the journalist."

"It is not my honor as an Algerian citizen and artist to welcome my country to this man who is arrested and ordered to kill intellectuals and journalists," he added, stressing that Algerian diplomacy should preserve its interests in talks with the crown prince during his scheduled visit.

Comments were made in the media sites in the event of the announcement of some of the Algerian media about the visit of Ben Salman, and the interaction of Algerians strongly with the label "No - for secular - killer - Khashoggi - in - the land - martyrs."

The diplomatic storm
Within this interaction, the director of Al-Fajr Algerian newspaper Hazem wrote that "Bin Salman was distributing the blood of Yemeni children to the rulers and implicating them in his crimes. Will he be welcomed by Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia?"

As for the writer Zine El Abidine Baasha, he asked on his Facebook page about the reason for choosing the Saudi Crown Prince for Algeria, pointing out that "the visit came to face the diplomatic storm raised by the Khashoggi case."

Bouache said the "violent" reactions would have an impact on Algerian-Saudi relations.

"The news of the Saudi Crown Prince's visit came as a shock to the Algerians," said Mohamed Alal. "The Saudi prince will visit Algeria and will welcome Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia at the embassy. Do you think about what we think?"
