According to Sky News, the man collected dry branches, while a group of monkeys began to throw bricks from the top of the tree.
The police reported that the animals collected bricks in a nearby destroyed building and brought them to a tree.
A man died in hospital from injuries sustained as a result of hitting stones on the head and chest. The brother of the deceased reported that the monkeys threw at least 20 bricks at the man.
It is noted that local residents have repeatedly complained about the aggressive behavior of monkeys, but they are protected species.
In April, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a case after a monkey attacked a child at an exhibition in Arkhangelsk.
