As the newspaper notes, the faction within the ruling coalition has created a commission to reassess its positions on a number of issues relating to foreign policy and security.

In particular, the party plans to consider an agreement according to which the United States placed its nuclear weapons in Germany so that German military aircraft could be used to protect them in the event of an attack on the country.

It clarifies that the relevant agreement was concluded during the Cold War.

In October 2018, it was reported that the US Air Force transferred to the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, the largest batch of ammunition since the campaign in Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
