“We still rely heavily on fisheries, and climate change has obvious consequences for us - it is the warming of waters in our waters, an increase in ocean acidity,” he said.

According to Youhannesson, this can have a negative impact on the biological mass of the seas.

“Already in the near future, fish that traditionally live in Icelandic waters will move further north, and their place will be taken by fish, usually inhabiting to the south,” he explained.
