The Qatar National Museum has unveiled details of the design of the gift shops and new museum restaurants, which will be opened in succession for several weeks after the opening of the museum to the public on 28 March.

The design of the new facilities was supervised by architect Koichi Takada, after his company won the design competition. The company designed a gift shop, a children's gift shop, a desert rose coffee shop, an 875 coffee shop and a Jiwan restaurant. Takada was inspired by Qatar's hospitality.

Takada said that the design of these internal facilities at the Qatar Museum provided an opportunity to provide a unique experience in which visitors interact with the cultural heritage of the State of Qatar in its history and ancient past, adding that each part of the design reflects an aspect of Qatari history, .

Takada inspired the design of the shops of Dahl al-Mesfer (the Cave of Light) located in the heart of Qatar, a beautiful underground sanctuary, mostly composed of fibrous gypsum crystals emitting a faint phosphorescent glow like moonlight. This design creates a relationship between people and nature, The designer used the latest 3D modeling software to design curves and surfaces, taking visitors on an inspirational journey into the walls of the cave.

The interior design consists of forty thousand pieces of interlocking wooden three-dimensional, each of these pieces of wood is a geometric shape, so that they are unique and fit only with the counterpart, and these pieces are hand-held in Doha by the Italian carpenter Claudio Davuto and his team of Craftsmen.

The main gift shop offers a wide range of exclusive gifts, many inspired by the history, heritage and culture of Qatar. In collaboration with local artists and designers, N-Q Group, which runs gift shops, has developed a number of original and innovative products.

The Children's Gift Shop offers a variety of locally designed souvenirs and gifts, including educational toys, books, puzzles and games, on the first floor of the Qatar National Museum.

The Desert Rose Café is located on the ground floor overlooking the West Bay Lagoon and the courtyard of Al Baraha. The café is designed as an Oasis in the shape of the Desert Rose. The Desert Rose Café design is a direct reference to the exciting urban area of ​​Jean Nouvel's architectural work, Smaller range.

The Desert Rose Café is nestled under a large, low-ceilinged architectural disk that simulates the entrance to the cave. The gentle surrounding floor lighting slips through the interstitial seats, harmonizing with the daylight and giving visitors a rest during their tour of the Qatar National Museum.

The 875 is inspired by traditional Qatari gold jewelery, which has a purity of gold to 875. The quality of the restaurant reflects its name, offering customers the opportunity to dine in a traditional Qatari atmosphere inspired by hospitality. The fabric used in the café blends traditional white lines And black, according to the tradition of weaving in the manner of Sadu.

The cafe is equipped with special lighting inspired by the attraction of gold with a purity of 875, where it lights up towards the ceiling and attracts visitors to the mezzanine floor to discover the "invisible" cafe.

Located on the fourth floor of the museum, Jewan Restaurant has panoramic views of Doha Bay and captures the unique landscape of sea interiors with sand dunes in the Khor Al-Adid area. The sea penetrates into the heart of the desert and is named the "Qatari Pearl" , A white pink and round with a pure luster almost makes them vibrant.

In addition, the roof of the restaurant is inspired by traditional fishing nets, and more than four million pearl-like pearls hang from its roof to create a sense of diving in the water.
