After the reconstruction, the Royal Museum of Central Africa was opened in Tervuren, Belgium. It presents artifacts taken by the monarchy from its colonies, including from the Congo. Many exhibits are reminiscent of the colonial past of an African country. The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo demanded the return of the values belonging to his state.
