The decision to change the indexation of pensions was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the annual message to the Federal Assembly.
“Objectively, after the increase in pensions, we began to receive letters from citizens on January 1, and the president received the same letters about the fact that they promised to index pensions, but many did not receive the promise,” Interfax quoted her as saying.
According to her, this was due to the fact that the law contained “a restriction that cannot be paid below the subsistence minimum”.
Earlier, Putin, during a message to the Federal Assembly, said that the indexation of pensions should be carried out above the level of a living rally.
