German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday that she will not export weapons to Saudi Arabia until the truth is fully revealed in connection with the murder of Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Kashu.

"I agree with the statement that we should not be in the current situation in relation to arms exports that are already being restricted (Germany's Saudi Arabia)," AFP quoted Merkel as saying.

"We have no reason to decide to agree to arms exports to Saudi Arabia," said Haikomas, German Foreign Minister.

Last month, the German government approved the export of weapons worth about 540.1 billion won to Saudi Arabia for 416 million euros this year.

Merkel criticized the killing of Kashu, saying that it is necessary to clarify the facts promptly.

"We have a long way to go before the criminals are judged by the law," he said.
