In Gabon, hackers of the movement Anonymous announced to have launched a massive cyber-attack against Gabon's official websites. They still spared that of the presidency of the Republic and the Treasury.

Hackers hailed having paralyzed 70 Gabonese institutional sites. The goal is to punish Gabon as a dictatorship. " Surprise and massive attack against the government of Gabon (...) The dictators should have expected us! ", Jubilate the Anonymous in a tweet. " We do not forgive ," they sneer.

The reaction of Gabon was not long in coming. In a statement, the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequency (ANINF) which manages the country's computer networks has acknowledged that 60 of the 102 institutional sites have been victims of the cyber attack launched since Saturday. ANINF said the attacked sites are now available, but only from Gabon. It reserves the right to take legal action against the perpetrators of this attack.

The Anonymous had already launched an operation in Gabon in 2013. It was to support NGOs that fight against ritual crimes.
