François Hollande wished Monday, in his vows, that 2019 is "the year of appeasement" for France and that of "a new impetus" for Europe.

"2019 is the year of appeasement! Our country needs it so much, in this period where the feeling of injustice prevails, and sometimes of abandonment", writes the former president in his vows posted on the networks social. "Unity can only be found in the dialogue and respect of everyone, but especially in the stubborn quest for equality and solidarity," he adds.

May the year 2019 be one of appeasement, our country needs it so much. Unity can only be found in dialogue and in the obstinate search for equality and solidarity. I send you my best wishes for this new year.https: //t.co/Vx0usR4Gn3

Democracy, Ecology and Europe. For Francois Hollande, who met "yellow vests" in late November, democracy "is not the problem but the solution, provided that confidence is given to our territories and their elected officials." The Socialist also calls on France to "be the initiative" in 2019 to give "a new impetus" to Europe, which must be organized "around the voluntary countries to carry an ambition for the ecology and for the peace".
