Facebook said on Friday it had discovered a flaw that may have affected as many as 6.8 million people who used site-specific passwords to handle external image-related applications.

The company stated in a publication that the crash probably impacted up to 1,500 applications designed by 876 host developers that they were able to fix the problem.

Facebook said some applications may have entered a larger set of images than usual for 12 days between Sept. 13 and Sept. 25.
