“Our president called the head of Venezuela Maduro, expressed his support from Turkey and said:“ Brother Maduro, hold on, we are with you! ”Turkey, under the leadership of its leader, will defend its principled position against coup attempts,” the report said.
Earlier, in Mexico and Cuba, they acknowledged the recognition of the Maduro government.
On January 23, Venezuelan Parliament Speaker Juan Guaido declared himself interim head of state. Washington urged Maduro to hand over power to him.
Maduro accused the United States of intending to carry out a coup d'etat in the country.
Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said that the country's army does not recognize the presidency of Juan Guaido.
