Earlier, in Mexico and Cuba, they acknowledged the recognition of the Maduro government.

On January 23, Venezuelan Parliament Speaker Juan Guaido declared himself interim head of state. Washington urged Maduro to hand over power to him.

Maduro accused the United States of intending to carry out a coup d'etat in the country.
