The popularity rating of the President of the Republic has declined by two points from November to December, 23% satisfied, according to an Ifop poll published by Le Journal du Dimanche. The percentage of respondents who say they are "satisfied" with Emmanuel Macron falls from 25 to 23% while that of the "dissatisfied" increases inversely from 73 to 76%.

The respondents "very dissatisfied" in increase. In detail, the percentage of respondents saying "very satisfied" remains stable at 4%, and that of "rather satisfied" declined from 21 to 19%. Among the "dissatisfied", the "rather dissatisfied" are less numerous than in November (31% against 34%) but on the other hand the "very dissatisfied" represent 45% of the people questioned against 39% last month.

A little bit higher than François Hollande's. François Hollande, after 20 months of exercise, had for its part a rating of popularity still a little lower with 22%, according to this barometer. Nicolas Sarkozy counted at the same time of his mandate 44% of respondents "satisfied". The rating of Emmanuel Macron was 62% after his election in May 2017.

No better for Édouard Philippe. Prime Minister Philippe Philippe suffered the same fate as the head of state. Its rating is down 3 points from November to December and is 31%. The "satisfied" are 31% against 34% last November and the "dissatisfied" go from 62 to 66%. At his appointment as head of government, Edouard Philippe had 55% of "satisfied" and his rating reached its peak in June 2017 with 64% of "satisfied".

Survey conducted by telephone from December 7 to 15 with a sample of 1,943 people representative of the French population, according to the quota method.
