The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) plans to provide free Wi-Fi service on public buses and maritime transport vehicles and announced that it will be available in the 10 and 800 cabs.

The Executive Director of the Public Transport Agency at the Authority Ahmed Bahrozian told «Emirates Today», that the Foundation began to activate the service in the fleet of taxis, and began to hold talks with the two telecommunications companies in the State to be presented in the fleet of public buses and means of maritime transport, pointing out that the availability of this service Everywhere is one of the conditions and specifications of smart cities.

He added that the support of companies providing service is required through their community responsibilities and not consider them as a business deal, especially since the future of this service of the categories of material potential is weak.

He pointed out that the Authority signed an agreement with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) during the GITEX exhibition last month, in light of which the company started to install the required equipment in the taxi cabins, pointing out that the completion of the work of covering all the fleet vehicles of the six franchisees Operating in Dubai will be completed within one year from the date of signing the agreement.

He stressed that the provision of service in buses and maritime transport requires the cooperation of companies providing service, which will come in support of the efforts to transform the city of Dubai to be the smartest cities in the world, especially that the public transportation and transport services in all cities of the world supported, because the value of fees is low and its goal more social It is a means of making profits, making the provision of any additional services requires the support and cooperation of the providers of those services.
